Shanghai Expo mascot "Haibao" at Victoria Park

"Haibao", the mascot of the World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo), has this week moved to Victoria Park as part of an extended visit to Hong Kong.

Created from the Chinese character for "people", "Haibao" made the move on June 1 and will remain at Victoria Park until November 30.

After that, the mascot moves to Sha Tin Park and then onto Hong Kong Park during his stay in Asia's world city.

Haibao's change of scenery coincides with the "Haibao Tour of the World" competition which runs from May 27 until July 26 and is being organised by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Co-ordination.

Members of the public are encouraged to take a snap with Haibao, or to create their own artwork using the mascot, and submit it online. Information on the contest is available at http://big5.expo2010.cn/
