Shanghai Expo mascot "Haibao" at Victoria Park

"Haibao", the mascot of the World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo), has this week moved to Victoria Park as part of an extended visit to Hong Kong.

Created from the Chinese character for "people", "Haibao" made the move on June 1 and will remain at Victoria Park until November 30.

HK's Expo 2010 exhibition wins international design accolade

An exhibition on Hong Kong's participation in World Expo 2010 Shanghai China has received an international design accolade.

The German-based iF Communication Design Award was presented to the HKSAR's Expo 2010 exhibition in the 'corporate architecture' category, which includes exhibitions and events, as well as communications media for public spaces.

National Geographic Channel brings The World's Biggest Baby to Hong Kong

Meticulously crafted over six months by a team of experts in Australia, the beautifully rendered nine meter-long sculpture will be at ifc mall in Hong Kong starting 22 May 2009 for 10 days as the highlight of the unique ten-day exhibition. The visual extravaganza is combination of National Geographic’s groundbreaking HD premiere  – Big Blue, a sophisticated baby blue whale sculpture and interactive exhibits to cultivate its global initiative of conservation towards marine lives and ecosystems.

Acrobatic spectacular "Genghis Khan" opens International Arts Carnival

MTR Steps Up Tourist Offerings

On 1 May 2009, a Child Tourist Day Pass will be launched to complement the popular Tourist Day Pass, providing 24-hour unlimited travel on the MTR network for children aged between three and 11. Priced at HK$25 each, the Child Tourist Day Pass can be purchased at all MTR and Airport Express stations.

Museum of Art shows New Literati Painting

The exhibition "New Literati Painting", currently on show at the Hong Kong Museum of Art until November, features more than 100 paintings selected from its collection by artists who rose to prominence and built an art world of their own in the 1980s, the so-called "fiery red years," in China.
