Hong Kong Express Airways sponsored and organized a dream trip to Hong Kong for a Philippine orphans group in cooperation with The Department of Social Welfare & Development, Congressman R. Ablan Jr. and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.
It was the first ever overseas trip for the 24 orphans aged between 7 and 14. Accompanying the children include Congressman R. Ablan Jr. who was actively involved in the trip, government officials from 1st District, IIocos Norte, care takers and Philippine media. They flew the Hong Kong Express flight UO713 from Manila direct to Hong Kong on January 20, arriving Hong Kong at 10am.
Thanks to the generous co-sponsors, the 3-day trip made the orphans’ dream come true. The 3-day dream trip began with a magical day at Hong Kong Disneyland. The group was greeted by Mr. Noble Coker, Vice President, Park Operations and Operations Development and of course the beloved Disney's friend, Mickey Mouse. The afternoon was filled with fun and joy and finished with the Disney in the Stars Fireworks.
On the second day, the group visited Ngong Ping 360 and took the Ngong Ping Cable Car to experience the spectacular panorama view of the North Lantau Country Park, Hong Kong International Airport and the Giant Buddha. The orphans also enjoyed the animated show in the Monkey’s Tale Theatre at the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village.
It was all sunny and warm throughout the three-day trip. The third day began with a ride on the historic Peak Tram to Victoria Peak to see the spectacular view of Hong Kong harbour at the Peak Tower, Sky Terrace, followed by a tour in the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. The group enjoyed a fun afternoon at Ocean Park, meeting Ocean Park’s mascot Whiskers. They experienced exciting rides and watched the most popular dolphins and sealions show.
The dream trip of Hong Kong ended with a warm goodbye by Mr. Kalid Razack, CEO of Hong Kong Express Airways at Hong Kong International Airport.
