Renowned artist to perform ancient Chinese music

Wang Xinxin, one of the most renowned Nanguan musicians from Taiwan, will perform in Hong Kong next month (December).

The concerts, "Wang Xinxin Vocal Performance of the Nanguan School", will be held at 7.30pm on December 19 (Friday) at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre; and at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on December 20 (Saturday) at the Xiang Hai Xuan Multi-purpose Hall, Nan Lian Garden.

Learn more about plants through free exhibition at Kowloon Park

To arouse public interest in horticulture and to enhance awareness of greening, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organise a horticulture education exhibition entitled "The Wonderful World of Plants" on Saturday (November 22) and Sunday (November 23) from 10am to 4pm at the Arcade of Kowloon Park. Admission is free.

LCSD's first local iObservatory opens soon

Situated in Lady MacLehose Holiday Village, Sai Kung, the iObservatory is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. It was established by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and is run by the Hong Kong Space Museum.

Cathay Pacific introduces Self-Print Boarding Passes for passengers departing Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific Airways announced its latest innovation to help simplify the travel experience for passengers, with the launch of a new Self-Print Boarding Pass service for departures from Hong Kong International Airport with effect from Monday, 3 November. Passengers will be able to check in 48 hours in advance for flights departing after 03:00 (Hong Kong time) that day.

Speech by Commissioner of Police

The following is the speech delivered by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Tang King-shing, at the Force Remembrance Day today (November 7):

Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to pay tribute to both the Regular and Auxiliary members of the Hong Kong Police Force who have given their lives in the line of duty.  Whilst this solemn ceremony is also a fitting tribute to the dedication and fortitude of all members of staff who have served with the Force over the past 160 years.
