Well-loved Japanese cartoon character Hello Kitty and her friend Kuromi have arrived to celebrate the festive season with MTR passengers by appearing in a series of limited-edition MTR Souvenir Ticket Sets and giant decorations at two MTR stations.
The limited edition MTR Souvenir Ticket Set featuring Kuromi is available for sale starting this Sunday (14 December 2008). Each set comes with a specially-designed MTR souvenir ticket featuring Kuromi , a ticket holder, a mini Kuromi toy capsule machine, three capsules with metal charms and a redemption coupon for a free Kuromi shopping bag to be used when purchasing the second MTR Souvenir Ticket Set starring Hello Kitty available the following Sunday (21 December 2008) while stock lasts.
Each souvenir ticket is valid for two single journeys to any destination on the MTR (excluding the Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, Light Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus) on or before 28 February 2009. The souvenir tickets will be returned to passengers after use.
Each ticket set is priced at $88 and can be purchased at all MTR Customer Service Centres (except Airport Express, Light Rail, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, Racecourse, Sunny Bay and Disneyland Resort stations). Each person is limited to two sets per purchase while stock lasts.
To celebrate Christmas with MTR passengers, giant Kuromi displays are on show at MTR Hung Hom Station to 6 January 2009 and at Hong Kong Station until 8 January 2009 – two dazzling sights not to be missed.
From 12 to 28 December 2008, passengers who have joined the Airport Express “Ride To Rewards” Programme will get a free shopping bag when purchasing one Kuromi MTR Souvenir Ticket Set and one Hello Kitty MTR souvenir ticket set. They will also receive a free “Kuromi Skull” charm by presenting the registered Octopus Card at any Airport Express Customer Service Centre (except AsiaWorld–Expo Station and the departure platform of Airport Station) when purchasing both ticket sets while stock lasts.
