Museum of Art features all the donated works by Wu Guanzhong

The "Lofty Integrity: Donation of Works by Wu Guanzhong", which features the donation of 50 masterpieces by Wu Guanzhong, will run at the Hong Kong Museum of Art from March 26 until July 4, 2010, offering the public an opportunity to share the hearty gift of the artist to Hong Kong.

Officiating at the exhibition's opening ceremony March 25 was the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang. Other officiating guests were son of Mr Wu Guanzhong, Mr Wu Keyu; internationally renowned ink painter, Professor Liu Guosong; Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Mrs Betty Fung; and Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Mr Tang Hoi-chiu.

MTR Staff Serenade Passengers with Romantic Love Songs

Romantic love songs will float through the air in Hong Kong Station this Saturday (27 February) as MTR staff stage a special live performance from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Central Subway as a pre-celebration of Chinese Valentine’s Day which falls on Sunday (28 February).

Flower show's theme flower Cineraria colours Victoria Park

More than 350,000 flowers at the Hong Kong Flower Show will transform Victoria Park into a colourful floral wonderland on March 19.

The annual spectacular, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will be held in Victoria Park for 10 days between March 19 and 28, from 9am to 9pm daily. This year's flower show features Cineraria as its theme flower and "Fairy Tales of Flowers" as its theme.

Latest group of cadet pilots get their wings

Cathay Pacific Airways 11 February held a ceremony at its headquarters’ complex to present graduates of the airline’s Cadet Pilot Programme with their “wings”, marking their official entry into the airline as Second Officers.

All the members of CP29 are Hong Kong ID card holders and come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some already had careers in the aviation industry – including helicopter pilot, flight instructor and Cathay Pacific flight attendant – while others had jobs ranging from financial planner to teacher.

Mawangdui treasures on show at Museum of History

More than 100 valuable relics unearthed from aristocratic Han tombs at Mawangdui and other historical sites of the ancient Changsha kingdom will be on show at the Hong Kong Museum of History from February 10 to May 3.

Entitled "Legends of Luxury and Elegance: Lifestyles of the Han Nobility", the exhibition is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Hunan Provincial Museum, and organised by the Hong Kong Museum of History. Featuring a fine selection of bronze vessels, lacquerware, textile products, jade ware and silk books, the exhibition provides a comprehensive insight into the vibrant diversity of Han culture 2,000 years ago, from dietary culture and the collection of manuscripts to concepts of well-being and health, fashion and beauty.

Hong Kong Flower Show tickets now available

Admission tickets to the Hong Kong Flower Show 2010 are on sale from March 1 until March 28 at the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's (LCSD) District Leisure Services Offices and leisure venues with Leisure Link services.

Airport exhibition features Hong Kong's cultural heritage

Visitors who leave Hong Kong from the Hong Kong International Airport will, from this month (February), be able to get a glimpse of the city's cultural heritage before they leave.

The spectacular display of colourful artefacts includes lanterns, embroidered canopy, placard leading the fire dragon, mooncake box, and the head of dragon boat.
